Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has demanded Speaker to take Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to task for misleading the House and people of the state on cement rates in Telangana.

While the price of a bag of cement (of 50 kg) was in the range of Rs 262 to 300, Chief Minister stated that it was only Rs 230 which was incorrect, the opposition party said.
TDP legislators from Telangana led by floor leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao submitting a complaint to Assembly speaker Madhusudhana chary demanding him to take action against chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in Hyderabad on Monday
TDP legislators, led by floor leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao, met Speaker Madhusudhana Chary and submitted a letter in this regard on Monday. It may be mentioned here that CM announced that price of a bag of cement was higher in Andhra Pradesh when compared to Telangana while speaking on calling attention debate on DLF land allotments in Gachibowli.

Further, TDP members accused both CM and Panchayat Raj Minister K Taraka Rama Rao of making contradicting statements regarding pensions to poor. What action would be taken against them for misleading the House, they questioned.

Meanwhile, TDP made an appeal to Speaker to protect rights of their deputy floor leader, Revanth Reddy, from the onslaught of ruling party. “We will think of alternative measures if Speaker failed to come to our rescue,” they said.

TDP members pointed out that statements made by Revanth on power and intensive household survey subjects were not his individual opinions but that of party itself. However, the ruling party MLAs were intentionally targetting him and stopping him from speaking in the House, which is very unfair.

TDP delegation told the Speaker that they were very dejected that Chair was not protecting rights of opposition members because TRS MLAs were creating ruckus in Assembly each time Revanth took mike in the Assembly. TRS government’s unilateral actions in a way were affecting constitutional and democratic rights of our member, TDP MLAs highlighted in their letter.
