Wait for govt staff gets a little longer

Hyderabad: The woes of Telangana government on the administration front are likely to continue further with the much-awaited division of government staff between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States to be completed only after four months. C R Kamalanathan, who is heading the panel to distribute government staff working in Secretariat as well as various Heads of Departments (HoDs), dropped a bombshell on Friday, saying the distribution was likely to be completed by March 2015.
Kamalanathan held a joint meeting with the Chief Secretaries of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments in New Delhi on Friday. Later speaking to reporters, he pointed out that they were in the process of identifying cadre strength in various departments. So far, cadre strength in 15 departments was determined. Option forms would be given to the employees within a week and they would be given 15 days time to select their choice.
Further, he stated that cadre strength in 70 other departments would be known by December 10. He noted that guidelines had been finalized and also ratified by the Centre. There was no question of effecting changes in the guidelines, he added.

TNGO president G Deviprasad felt that four months was too long a period and it would seriously hamper Telangana government’s plans to put administration into fast track mode.
He demanded that the staff allotment formalities should be completed by December 31. Any contentious issues between both the States could be addressed and solved before March 31. For this, the entire allocation process should not be prolonged until March, he felt.
