Demands job opportunities for Kadapa youth

Badvel (Kadapa): The Communist Party of India (CPI) organised ‘Poru Bata’ at Four Roads Centre in Badvel town on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, party district secretary Eswaraiah said the situation in Rayalaseema districts could be easily understood with the announcement of 48 out 51 mandals in Kadapa district as drought-hit. He stressed the need for an all-round development of Rayalaseema and demanded Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to give a special package.

Stating the severe drinking water shortage in Rayachoti, Pulivendula, Kadapa and Proddatur, Eswaraiah warned the government that they would launch a massive agitation if the water problem was not solved. The TD government did nothing to Rayalaseema even after six months of coming to power, he alleged.

About 10,000 youth were jobless in spite of the presence of many cement industries in the district, he said and pointed out many youth were migrating to Hyderabad and other cities for meagre salaries like Rs 1500 or Rs 2000. There was no news about Brahmani Steel factory which was said to be constructed by SAIL within six months, he added. He decried the injustice being done to Rayalaseema with many higher learning institutions like IIT were being set up in Guntur and Krishna districts. Eswaraiah demanded setting up of industries and job opportunities to the youth of Kadapa district before laying the foundation stone to the capital.
