Volvo bus catches fire in Zaheerabad
A Volvo bus belonging to a private travels was reduced to ashes following flames erupting from its engine near Chiragpalli village under Zaheerabad mandal on the National Highway No 65 on Monday morning. According to eyewitnesses, the bus, which was coming towards Hyderabad from Mumbai with 45 persons, caught fire as soon as it entered the Telangana State border.
Hyderabad: A Volvo bus belonging to a private travels was reduced to ashes following flames erupting from its engine near Chiragpalli village under Zaheerabad mandal on the National Highway No 65 on Monday morning. According to eyewitnesses, the bus, which was coming towards Hyderabad from Mumbai with 45 persons, caught fire as soon as it entered the Telangana State border.
The L&T personnel working on the highway alerted the driver about the flames coming out from the engine. The driver stopped the vehicle and asked the passengers to run for safety. He then called for fire services assistance. However, the bus was reduced to ashes before the fire fighting squad came to the spot. The bus passengers heaved a sigh of relief as they escaped from the fire miraculously. Another bus was arranged to bring the passengers to Hyderabad.
