Kadiyam nursery saplings sold like hot cakes

Visakhapatnam: A wide array of colorful and decorative saplings specially brought from Kadiyam attracted huge crowd, especially women, at the Vuda Park here on the concluding day of the vibrant Visakha Utsav on Sunday.

Nearly 150 species of saplings including Hybrid Rose, Chamanthi, Sunflower, Hibuscus and a few more decorative plants like Pitania, Silver Dust, Andhuria, Marigold, Dhalia, Bigonia, Aglania, Crotons, Ficus were sold at the stall set up here. The price ranged from Rs 15 depending on the type of saplings. “We have a good market at the carnival as people came in large groups in the three-day Utsav. Women are much interested to have different saplings to grow at their homes,” said member of the nursery. Kavya Krishna, a visitor said, “We can see unique and seasonal saplings here and I purchased many unique ones to plant in my garden as they may not be available here after the carnival.”
