Actor Rajasekhar is gearing up to come back on the big screen after a brief hiatus with ‘Gaddam Gang’, a story based on a group of gangsters which happens to be the remake of Tamil film ‘Soodu Kavvum’.

“I have been seeing failures from the past five years and decided to try something new this time. I spent a great deal of money for the remake rights,” says the seasoned actor about his decision to remake the film.

Directed by a debutant, Santosh, the film is a faithful remake of the original shares the actor. “We hardly made any changes to the script. The only addition was some punch dialogues and a few scene changes to suit the Telugu nativity,” adds the actor.

Rajasekhar has been in the industry for a long time and he says that he is ready to graduate from lead roles to character roles. “I am ready to accept such roles but only if there is something interesting for me to do. However, before that I want to prove myself as a bankable actor by scoring a hit,” he says.

Interestingly, Rajasekhar has dubbed for himself in ‘Gaddam Gang’s trailer. When quizzed about the same, he laughs before saying, “You won’t see that in the film. Sai Kumar was busy at that time and so I dubbed for myself! Otherwise he will be dubbing for the film.”

And what’s next? “Well, Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Patta Pagalu’ is ready for release. And after that I have two more films ‘Vandaku Vanda’ and ‘Arjuna’ that are nearing completion,” he signs off.
