Guwahati: Twin blast had rocked oil riches Upper Assam town Digboi few hours ago of Republic Day celebration on Monday, officials said.
According to reports, two low intensity bomb had exploded in Digboi town in oil riches Upper Assam on Monday morning.
There have no report of any casualties in the explosion.
Tinsukia district SP Ananda Prakash Tiwari said that, suspected ULFA(I) militants had triggered the explosions.
"The first blast took place near a patrol pump in Digboi town and second was near the railway line, " the top police official said.
Meanwhile ULFA(I) had claimed responsibility of the explosions.
In other hand, security forces on Monday morning had recovered a powerful IED at Hatigarh area in Jorhat district averted a major explosion which was kept buried by ULFA(I) militants.
Later bomb squad team had defused the IED.
