Collector directs officials to work in coordination
East Godavari District Collector Arun Kumar on Tuesday directed officials of various departments to execute all Godavari pushkaram works in a time frame. He cautioned the officials against giving any scope for criticism as far as quality of works were concerned.

Rajahmundry: East Godavari District Collector Arun Kumar on Tuesday directed officials of various departments to execute all Godavari pushkaram works in a time frame. He cautioned the officials against giving any scope for criticism as far as quality of works were concerned.
The Collector told the officials to accord priority to the works intended to build bathing ghats in rural areas. He directed the officials of all departments to work in coordination. Eluru range DIG P Hari Kumar stressed the need to make special arrangement to ensure that there is no stampede at bathing ghats.
He advised the officials to build barricades at all ghats. He said the police would work out traffic regulations in coordination with civic officials, he said. J Murali, Special officer, Godavari Pushkaram and Commissioner, Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation, said it was decided to build 244 bathing ghats in East and West Godavari districts and special ghat-level committees headed by Tahsildar cadre officer would be constituted.
He said any encroachments in Pushkaram places would be removed. S Harikrihsna, Superintendent of Police, Rajahmundry urban district, said strengthening of roads leading to ghats, barricades at ghats was necessary. V Vijayarama Raju, Rajahmundry Sub-Collector, officials of various departments of East and West Godavari districts attended.
