Vexed by family problems, a 25-year-old housewife attempted suicide after she allegedly slit the throat of her three-month-old baby boy with a blade at Gandlagudem village under Aswaraopet mandal in Khammam district on Thursday.
Khammam: Vexed by family problems, a 25-year-old housewife attempted suicide after she allegedly slit the throat of her three-month-old baby boy with a blade at Gandlagudem village under Aswaraopet mandal in Khammam district on Thursday. According to sources, Malothu Priyanka slit the throat of her boy first then she slashed her throat with the same blade. No family member was in the house when the incident took place. The neighbours rushed both mother and son to government hospital in Aswaraopet.Later, the boy was admitted to government hospital in Khammam after his health condition deteriorated.It is learnt that Priyanka took the extreme step as she was upset with the family problems and was at loggerheads with her husband Chittibabu frequently. The condition of the mother is said to be stable. Sub-inspector S Kiran Kumar registered a case and started investigation.
