Highlighting diverse aspects of Telangana, the CPI(M) organised an exhibition Janajatara at Nizam college grounds on Sunday and showcased various traditions and caste based professions of different communities.
Hyderabad: Highlighting diverse aspects of Telangana, the CPI(M) organised an exhibition Janajatara at Nizam college grounds on Sunday and showcased various traditions and caste based professions of different communities. The exhibition was inaugurated by M A Baby, party politburo member on the occasion the State’s first 4-day conference in Nizam College grounds on Sunday.
The exhibition will be highlighting State’s cuisine, cultural festivities, short films, books on armed struggle in Telangana apart from caste based professions. About 200 stalls were set up on the grounds.
Speaking on the occasion, Baby said that the exhibition was celebration of cultural diversity, even as the political elements like Sangh Parivar was trying to impose their concept of majoritarian domination.
The reality of India, which is diversity, is being exhibited. He felt that those who are trying to make one Hindu rastra, based on chaturvarnya and are trying to marginalise Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe. The exhibition reflects the real Indian and Telugu culture, said CPI (M) national leader.
He said that poorest of the poor are being neglected and peasants are being attacked with the Land Acquisition Bill. The party would be fighting against the government’s anti-poor policy and communal agenda by mobilising the masses. Responding to a question, he said that KCR government was doing what Narendra Modi government is doing in Delhi, while succumbing to Corporate pressure.
Prof Kancha Ilaiah said that caste-based-professions made scientific discoveries thousands of years ago, even as the Europe was struggling.
