The Lake Police on Monday saved three women who tried to end their lives by jumping into the Hussain Sagar Lake. A constable and a home guard rescued Padma, 29, resident of Bansilalpet, when was seen walking into the waters. Police said she was in an inebriated condition. Similarly, another woman Sunita Dochania, 29, was also rescued when she tried to jump into the lake.

Hyderabad: The Lake Police on Monday saved three women who tried to end their lives by jumping into the Hussain Sagar Lake. A constable and a home guard rescued Padma, 29, resident of Bansilalpet, when was seen walking into the waters. Police said she was in an inebriated condition. Similarly, another woman Sunita Dochania, 29, was also rescued when she tried to jump into the lake.

“She was physically and mentally harassed by her in-laws and wanted to end her life,” the cops said. The women were counselled and sent back to their homes. In a separate incident, Galipally Umamaheshwari, 41, a divorcee of New Dilsukhnagar colony, Kothapet, was rescued by the cops near Necklace Road railway station when she tried to commit suicide by jumping into the lake after consuming poison. “She was rushed to Medicity Hospital and her parents were informed,” the Lake Police said.
