TDP supremo to participate in a series of programmes in Karimnagar district

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP President Nara Chandrababu Naidu would visit Karimnagar district in Telangana on Tuesday even as the MRPS and TRS cadres threatened to obstruct the visit following the demand for the categorisation of SCs ( Scheduled Castes) and pending disputes on power and water sharing between AP and Telangana states.

The Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi ( MRPS) has been demanding Naidu to accept the SC categorisation for which Naidu supported during his regime in united AP.

The ruling TRS was demanding to withdraw scrapping the PPA agreements entered by Telangana GENCO with AP projects in the united state.

As per the tentative schedule, the TDP Chief would participate in the rallies organised in Timmapur, LMD colony and Lagnur. He would address the party workers’ meeting in Karimnagar town. Before leaving for Hyderabad, the party leader would conduct review meetings with all Assembly constituency in-charges in the district.

Alerted by the intelligence officials that MRPS and TRS cadres are planning to stage dharnas during Naidu’s visit, district police tightened security at all the venues where Naidu would address the meetings. Some MRPS activists were taken into preventive custody. Naidu’s visit to Karimnagar would be the second visit after Warangal in Telangana after he assumed CM’s post in July last year.
