Hyderabad: A two-judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad on Tuesday ordered notice to Chairman Telangana State Legislative Council and Speaker Telangana Assembly on the question of delays of taking up complaints under the Anti-Defection Law. The bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sengupta and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar was dealing with writ appeals filed by MS Prabhakar Rao, whip of Congress and Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Floor Leader of Telugu Desam Party.
It might be recalled the Congress whip had filed a petition in the High Court seeking disqualification of 5 MLCs who won on a Congress ticket but shifted their loyalty to TRS. The TDP leader had filed a similar petition seeking disqualification of TDP MLAs who won on a TDP ticket but defected to the TRS.
