Hyderabad: A Pakistani national was helped by a city journalist to clear her immigration issues at Mumbai on Tuesday, according to police. Iram Bano, 20, a Pakistani, who visited Hyderabad on March 9 of last year on student visa valid upto March 1, 2015, obtained a departure endorsement to go to Qatar via Mumbai from Hyderabad on March 2.

“The Mumbai immigration officials refused to clear her departure to Doha, informing that her details were not updated online, due to which she was shocked at Mumbai Airport as she was traveling alone. Immediately, she contacted her uncle Ali Raza, a journalist of Noorkhan Bazar, Hyderabad who in turn informed the same to Additional DCP-I (SB), Goverdhan Reddy and Additional DCP-II (SB), Md Ismail. The officers passed the information to immigration officials to clear her departure smoothly,” Goverdhan Reddy said.
