Opposition Party YSRC raised a voice for the Anganwadi workers in the AP Assembly whose dharna stormed the state capital.

On Tuesday, Andhra Pradesh Assembly was adjourned thrice after YSR Congress members shouted slogans and stalled the Question Hour proceedings demanding a discussion on increasing the wages for Anganwadi workers in the State.

As soon as the House met to take up the proceedings, Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao announced that he was rejecting an adjournment motion tabled by YSR Congress Party on the problems of Anganwadi workers. Holding placards and raising slogans, YSR Congress members surrounded the Speaker’s podium, forcing the Chair to adjourn the House.

Similar discussions forced two more adjournments even as Finance Minister Y. Ramakrishnudu, Labour Minister Atchan Naidu, Women Empowerment Minister P. Sujatha and Rural Development Minister K. Mrinalini accused the YSR Congress members of politicizing the issue to gain political mileage.
