GHMC draft budget for the year 2015-16
In a first of its kind, the GHMC had announced its budget for the year 2015-16 and also highlighted the allocations for the welfare, development and garbage cleaning programs. According to budget proposals released by the GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar this evening, the revenue & capital receipts of GHMC were Rs.6396 crore and after the mandatory revenue surplus
In a first of its kind, the GHMC had announced its budget for the year 2015-16 and also highlighted the allocations for the welfare, development and garbage cleaning programs. According to budget proposals released by the GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar this evening, the revenue & capital receipts of GHMC were Rs.6396 crore and after the mandatory revenue surplus of Rs.846 crore, the budget is fixed at Rs.5550 crores.
The Main components of GHMC receipts are Property Tax (Rs.1200 Crores), Surcharge on stamp duty (Rs.300 Crores), Town Planning fee (Rs. 600 Crores), Professional Tax (Rs.100 Crores) etc. The Government of Telangana State has already allotted Rs.628 Crores budget to GHMC for schemes like Slum-free Hyderabad (Rs.250 Crores), Telangana Haritha Haram (Rs.25 Crores), Improvement of roads (Rs.250 Crores), MMRTS (Rs.21 Crores), Charminar Pedestrian Project (Rs.1 crore), etc.

Proposed BPS & LRS is expected to contribute Rs.800 Crores to GHMC. GHMC to meet its plan with help of Government of Telangana. From Government of India Rs.467 Crores is expected under various schemes / program like 13 & 14 Finance Commission Grants, Swatch Bharath, Sardar Patel Housing Yojana, said the Commissioner.
