Identifying diverse opportunities.The inaugural session had began by the gracious presence of Chief Guest Padmasree D Balasubramanian, Director of Research, LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, Dr S Venkataraman from ADRIN, Department of Space, Hyderabad, Vice Chairman J L N Sastry, Hon.
Hyderabad: 16th Gyanatarangini Vyakyanamala organized at Bhavan’s Vivekananda College, Sainikpuri. It is an Annual lecture series organized every year by Department of Microbiology, Biochemistry and Computer Science, during which various eminent scientists and academicians address the students, giving them an insight into various fields of their expertise.
The inaugural session had began by the gracious presence of Chief Guest Padmasree D Balasubramanian, Director of Research, LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, Dr S Venkataraman from ADRIN, Department of Space, Hyderabad, Vice Chairman J L N Sastry, Hon. Director Col M Vijay Rao, Principal Prof Y Ashok and Co-coordinator of the event Dr K Anuradha, Head, Department of Microbiology.

Prof D Balasubramanian in his keynote address focused on “Translational Research in India.” He has cited examples of Indian Scientists who successfully translated their research from lab to societal benefits. It was followed by lecturers for Microbiology and Biochemistry by Dr Purnima Bhargava, Chief Scientist, CCMB, Hyderabad. She spoke on “Chromatin dynamics, Epigenetics regulation and Transcription.”
The next lecture was delivered by Dr H A Nagarajaram from CDFD, Hyderabad, who enlightened the students on the “Three dimensional structural aspects of proteins.” The guest speaker who addressed the Computer Sciences students was Dr S Venkataraman from ADRIN, Department of Space, Hyderabad and Mr J Sreenivas, TCS, Hyderabad.
They spoke on “Embedded application software tools” and “Key factors for success of software project” respectively.Along with the lectures Intercollegiate competition like scientific writing, Paper presentation, Poster presentation and quiz was organized. Students from different colleges participated in the event.
