The Center for Women Development of ICFAI University, Hyderabad, has organized an inaugural session of a five-day workshop titled ‘Gender Sensitization in Management Training’ at its Campus. The workshop will have different sessions on the topic from March 30th to April 03rd.

Hyderabad: The Center for Women Development of ICFAI University, Hyderabad, has organized an inaugural session of a five-day workshop titled ‘Gender Sensitization in Management Training’ at its Campus. The workshop will have different sessions on the topic from March 30th to April 03rd.

Speaking at the inaugural session as Chief Guest, Prof.Susheela Kaushik, Former Director of Women’s Studies at Delhi University, pointed out that “Women are undoubtedly efficient, however, even today, we can count the number of women occupying top positions on our fingers. We are looking forward for a day when they are visible everywhere and constitute a majority at the Top Level.”

“With increasing number of women entering professional life, growing issues concerning women and gender relations, sensitizing men and women, towards achieving better, deeper understanding and empathy towards each other is the aim of this Workshop” said Dr.Mahender Reddy, Vice – Chancellor of ICFAI University, in his presiding address.

Dr Reddy further appreciated the change and attitudinal shift being witnessed in society’s thoughts on equality; however, he agreed that a lot more needs to be done to be truly called equality. He suggested a ‘Team India’ concept wherein both the Centre and the State work together to further achieve the objectives and provide greater role for women.

Prof.Susheela Kaushik, along with her team comprising Prof.ReichaTanwar, Director, Center for Women Studies, Kurukshetra University, Prof.Usha Rani, Director, Center for Women Studies, Sri Venkateswara University and other experts in this field are resource persons for the five-day workshop. The inaugural program was well attended by delegates, faculty and students from various colleges and Universities.
