Good news for Hindu and Muslim brides from poor families in Telangana. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has directed the district collectors that the grants under the Shadi Mubarak and Kalyana Lakshmi schemes should be granted to the SC and ST brides families before the wedding event itself.
The parents of the brides should apply with the wedding cards and receipts for other payments to a special Tahshildar in the collectorate who will release funds after inspection report on the wedding arrangements etc.
Similarly, a corpus of Rs.One crore is kept with the District collector to grant incentives to he SC/ST industrialists without delay and red tape. They would be granted plots in industrial estates as per the reservation ratio.
