In order to track and monitor atrocities against Dalits and Adivasis in India, a website, Atrocities Tracking and Monitoring (ATM), was launched during the Dalit Sthree Sakthi (DSS) national level meet held here on Friday. Civil and Dalit rights activists from 10 States participated in the two-day meet held under the aegis of National Women for Justice and National Coalition for SC/ST (POA) Act.

Hyderabad: In order to track and monitor atrocities against Dalits and Adivasis in India, a website, Atrocities Tracking and Monitoring (ATM), was launched during the Dalit Sthree Sakthi (DSS) national level meet held here on Friday. Civil and Dalit rights activists from 10 States participated in the two-day meet held under the aegis of National Women for Justice and National Coalition for SC/ST (POA) Act.

Kaki Madhava Rao, former IAS officer, Ramesh Nathan, National Convener, National Campaign on Dalit Human Rights, R Subba Rao IAS, members from Thaksin Premji Foundation and others addressed the gathering. The members, who took part in the event, opined that website would be useful to curtail the atrocities against Dalit and Adivasis. They said 3.7 lakh cases were registered between 2001 and 2011 as per National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) statistics. Tabs were distributed to the leaders in recognition to their services during the event. DSS State Convener Jhansi Geddam presided over the event.
