3 eunuchs nabbed for extortion
Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) apprehended three eunuchs for allegedly troubling passengers and extorting money from them during a journey on the Vijayawada-Warangal route. According to South Central Railway (SCR), three eunuchs boarded into a general compartment of Bangalore-Patna Sangamitra Express on Tuesday at around 12.45 am and started demanding money from a passenger.
Hyderabad: Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) apprehended three eunuchs for allegedly troubling passengers and extorting money from them during a journey on the Vijayawada-Warangal route. According to South Central Railway (SCR), three eunuchs boarded into a general compartment of Bangalore-Patna Sangamitra Express on Tuesday at around 12.45 am and started demanding money from a passenger.
Despite the passenger shelling out Rs 100 to them, the trio forcibly clinched an amount of Rs 5,000 available with him, an SCR release issued here on Saturday said, adding that the co-passengers immediately pulled the alarm chain after taking note of the incident. RPF Train escorting staff and GRP Warangal, rushed to the train and nabbed the three eunuchs.
A case has been registered in this regard and an investigation was taken up, it said. On further investigation by GRP Warangal, it was revealed that a similar complaint was already lodged against the three eunuchs by a passenger at Beitul railway station for extorting an amount of Rs 27,000, the release added. One arrested for stealing
On 15th April, the Crime Prevention & Detection Squad of Railway Protection Force, Vijayawada Division while escorting Train No 22870, Chennai-Visakhapatnam Express between Nellore and Vijayawada has apprehended one person with suspicious movements. Upon enquiry, he revealed that stole a ladies hand bag in S-6 coach of the train and took out valuables such as gold ear studs, one mobile phone and of Rs 520, totalling to an amount of Rs 41,000 from the hand bag. A case has been registered against by the police personnel.
