Car bombs rock Iraq
A series of car-bomb attacks have hit two cities in Iraq, leaving dozens of people dead. In the capital Baghdad, at least 27 people were killed on Friday in multiple blasts. The deadliest attack was inside a car dealership in the mainly Shia Habibya neighbourhood in the east of the city. In another attack, a car bomb struck next to the US consulate in Erbil, the capital of Iraq\'s Kurdish region.
Suicide bomber blows up when confronted by US consulate guards
Baghdad: A series of car-bomb attacks have hit two cities in Iraq, leaving dozens of people dead. In the capital Baghdad, at least 27 people were killed on Friday in multiple blasts. The deadliest attack was inside a car dealership in the mainly Shia Habibya neighbourhood in the east of the city. In another attack, a car bomb struck next to the US consulate in Erbil, the capital of Iraq's Kurdish region.
Security sources said the blast in the Ankawa district killed at least three people and injured five others. The incident occurred in the afternoon when a suicide bomber tried to approach the US consulate in Aynkawa district in western Arbil, but the guards opened fire on the attacker and forced him to blew it up before he reached the entrance of the consulate.
