Aadhaar linkage camps on April 26. Deputy Chief Election Officer Devayani said that linking of Aadhaar number with voter ID would help the election authorities to prepare comprehensive voters list.

Karimnagar: Deputy Chief Election Officer Devayani said that linking of Aadhaar number with voter ID would help the election authorities to prepare comprehensive voters list.Reviewing the progress of Aadhaar linkage with voter ID along with the representatives of various political parties at the Collectorate here on Tuesday, she said it also helps the election authorities to remove bogus and duplicate cards and cards of migrant and deceased persons.
With regard to linking Aadhaar card with voter ID, both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States were ahead than other States in the country, she informed.Stating that household survey for Aadhaar linkage would be completed by May 3, she wanted the officials to finish the voter verification process too. Besides verification, inclusion of new voters in the voter list should be done during the HH survey, she said.
There would be special camps in all polling booths on April 26, she informed and added that people could submit their Aadhaar number at the camps. Devayani asked the staff to collect mobile phone numbers and email IDs of the voters during the household survey.
Speaking on the occasion, District Collector Neethu Kumari Prasad said that about 33 percent voters already linked their Aadhaar numbers with voter ID.Out of 28,29,921 voters in the district, 9,23,010 voters linked their Aadhaar number with voter ID. She assured that the process of Aadhaar seeding would be expedited in the district.
