Change in school timings this year
The Department of School Education in Telangana has decided to alter the school timings in the state from the academic year 2015-16. According to official sources, all primary schools in the state, excluding schools in Hyderabad, will work from 9.30 am to 4:15 pm, whereas upper primary and high schools will function from 9.30 am to 4:45 pm.

According to official sources, the department also decided to give Dasara vacation from October 12 to 25, Christmas vacation (minority schools) from December 24 to 30, Sankranti vacation January 11 to 17 and summer vacation from April 24 to June 11. When contacted, Commissioner and Director of Department of School Education, T Chiranjeevulu, said, “Teachers unions have given their nod for the changes and government has to take a final call.”
