Hyderabad: Bangalore-based Nightingales Home Health Services which launched its specialty home healthcare services in the city three months ago is now looking to expand its operations here, in addition to foraying into Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam soon.

Sudhaker Jadav (fourth from left), Regional Head, Nightingales Home Health Services, with his team members. The company provide specialty healthcare services to patients at their doorsteps in Hyderabad.

“We have started our services in Hyderabad by opening our first branch in Begumpet in February this year. Our plan is to have five branches in the city. Besides, we are in the processing of expanding our services to Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam over the next few months,” Sudhaker Jadav, Regional Head, Nightingales Home Health Services, told The Hans India.

Established in 1996 in Bangalore, Nightingales Home Health Services has over the years pioneered the concept of providing specialty medicare at the patient’s doorstep. MedWell Ventures, which took over it recently, is now in the process of expanding its services to over 10 cities across India in next two years or so.

“Many think home healthcare services means just nursing and things like that. Our forte is in specialty healthcare services including stroke rehabilitation, dementia care, wound management, pulmonary rehabilitation and intensive care which we will provide to the patients at their doorstep,” Jadav explained, adding that dentistry services would also be added soon.

At present, the company has nurses, doctors, physiotherapists and bedside caregivers on its rolls in the city. “The response is phenomenal because of our reasonable charges which start at Rs 300 per visit for nursing services and Rs 500 for a doctor to visit a patient’s home. Already, we are receiving 30 to 40 calls a day. Our teams are currently handling 15 to 16 cases every day,” he said.

According to him, Hyderabad offers huge growth potential for the company given the large number of nuclear families, diabetics and people with cardio-related problems it has. “It is known fact that a large number of people from Hyderabad work outside the country while their aged parents live here. Services like ours will be very helpful to such families,” Jadav maintained.

Moreover, the company is also in discussion with hospitals - large and small - in the city to handle the healthcare needs of patients after their discharge. It almost closed a deal with Sunshine Super Specialty Hospital located in Hi-Tech City, Madhapur. “We are also in talks with Care, Kamineni and Yashoda Hospitals on this and may finalise agreements in 15 to 20 days,” he said.

On the expansion into Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, he said active marketing research was underway now and services would be launched there by September or October this year. “We need to invest around Rs 2 crore for rolling out our services in each city. But the investments may be slightly less in these two cities,” he said.
