The United Federation of Resident Welfare Associations (UFERWAS) and Resident Welfare Associations of Malkajgiri and Alwal complained against the Army road restrictions at Secunderabad Cantonment to Malkajgiri MLA C Kanaka Reddy. They lamented that the closure of roads between 10 pm and 7 am every day is not in accordance with the Cantonment Act, 2006.

The United Federation of Resident Welfare Associations (UFERWAS) and Resident Welfare Associations of Malkajgiri and Alwal complained against the Army road restrictions at Secunderabad Cantonment to Malkajgiri MLA C Kanaka Reddy. They lamented that the closure of roads between 10 pm and 7 am every day is not in accordance with the Cantonment Act, 2006.

B T Srinivasan, general secretary, U-FERWAS, explained that there are huge traffic jams at Trimulgherry due to the blockade and the roads remain congested even at midnight. He requested the MLA to take up this issue with the chief minister. Incidentally, K Chandrasekhar Rao will be meeting the defence minister on May 6. Kanaka Reddy explained that steps will be taken to check the practice and also to discuss the recent demand of an NOC by the Army from residential houses setup close to Army establishments.
