Sunrisers stun CSK

Hyderabad: It was sweet revenge from Sunrisers Hyderabad which settled scores after having lost their away match to Chennai Super Kings by 45 runs. On Saturday, thanks to an inspired knock by skipper David Warner and a decent work by the bowlers and fielders, they did a splendid job with an brilliant 22-run win at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.

Chasing 193 runs for a win, the visitors lost the chase in the very third over when Bhuvneshwar Kumar sent back the dangerous Brendon McCullum for 12 with the score reading 22-1 after 3 overs. Although, runs did come briskly they were short on consistency and lost wickets at regular wickets. From 81-3 after the ninth over, 115-5 after 13 overs and 144-6 at the end of the 17th over, Chennai lost the battle in between Earlier, Skipper David Warner led from the front with a blistering attack to steer Sunrisers Hyderabad to an imposing 192 for seven.

After being asked to bat, the left-handed openers once again rose to the occasion with Warner (61 from 28 balls) and Shikhar Dhawan (37) putting on 86 runs for the first wicket. Warner completed his half-century in 20 balls with the help of 10 fours and a six. In the power play of six overs, the host added 76 runs. Eoin Morgan’s cameo knock was worth an unbeaten 32 while Dwayne Bravo was the most successful bowler for Chennai with his 3/25 haul.
