3-year-old boy knocked down by car
In a tragic incident, a three-year-old boy who was playing in front of his residence died after being knocked down by a car under LB Nagar police station limits on Sunday morning. Police said Parvathalu’s son Rahula Surya met with the accident when he was playing in front of his house at Sri Rama Hills Colony in Mansoorabad area. A speeding Hyundai i10 car (AP 29 BV 2720) knocked him down near his house around 11.30 am.

“Surya was playing on the side of the road when the vehicle hit him. His friends panicked on seeing him injured and informed the parents. The driver fled the scene after the accident, said Sub- Inspector Kasi Vishwanath.
The boy suffered head injuries. Neighbours and family members rushed the child to the Kamineni Hospital by the same car that caused accident. He, however, died on way to the hospital. The police registered a case under Section 304 A of the IPC against the driver.
