Hyderabad: With an aim to attracting more investments to Telangana State, Information Technology Minister K Tarakarama Rao is leaving on a two-week visit to the United States on Tuesday morning. KTR will be touring New York, New Jersey, Pittsburg, Dallas, San Francisco among other cities as part of his whirlwind tour. He will be meeting Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, CISCO CEO John Chambers, Indian Ambassador in US and Google representatives besides Indian diaspora there. Also, KTR will be visiting the noted Stanford and Carnegie Mellon Universities.

Armoor MLA Jeevan Reddy and IT secretary Jayesh Ranjan are accompanying KTR during the visit. Rao will wind up his tour on May 18 to return to Hyderabad. This visit of KTR generates a lot of interest as the son of the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Lokesh had also embarked on a visit to US apparently on a mission to attract industries to AP. The only difference is while KTR is visiting US in his official capacity as minister for IT, Lokesh is on a trip to US as a private individual.
