These are few proposals in the proposed new industrial policy to be unveiled on June 7. Making this announcement at a review meeting held at the Secretariat, on Monday, Rao said that Who’s Who from business field across India and bigwigs from MNCs would be invited for the unveiling programme.

Rao emphasized that permissions would be granted within fifteen days after the government holds preliminary discussions with the parties and feels convinced about their project proposals. While lands would be routed through TSIIC (Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation), water and electricity needs would be taken care of by the government. Already TSIIC was in possession of 1.6 lakh acres of open lands, he said.

Stating that Telangana had successfully overcome the power crisis this summer, Rao pointed out that state would become a surplus power state by 2017. This would give a big boost to industry sector, he felt. He directed officials to divide industries in two zones based on the risk factor involved. Industries posing threat to lives including pharmaceutical ones should be set up at a zone earmarked by the government, he said.
