Heavy rain and gusty winds wreaked havoc in a few parts of West Godavari district on Thursday morning. As many as 40 thatched houses collapsed and scores of trees were uprooted in Patamupparru village in Pedapadu Mandal. The sheds on the bunds of fish tanks also collapsed.

Electricity supply was also affected in several parts of the district. About 20 electrical poles were also collapsed, and electrical cables were also dislocated. According to reports, thunder storms and heavy gale hit Bhimavaram, Denduluru, Bhimadole, and other areas as well. The low-lying areas in the city are now have been stagnated with knee deep water.
