While the Centre presented the visitor's award for best varsity in the country to the University of Hyderabad (UoH) earlier this year, the HANSA-WEEK research survey for the year 2015 has ranked UoH in the fourth position across the country and the first position among the top multidisciplinary universities in the south.

The university has maintained its rank in the survey conducted last year. Meanwhile, Osmania University has been ranked seventh among 500 universities in the country in the survey which includes state, central, private and deemed universities. University of Delhi, JNU and Banaras Hindu University have been ranked one, two and three respectively.

The WEEK_HANSA research Best Universities survey 2015 was conducted by collecting factual information from more than 500 leading universities in India. 226 academic experts, across 20 cities were asked to nominate and rank top universities. Eight qualitative in-depth interviews were done among these experts to validate the collected data and to provide the rationale for ranking.

Various parameters including infrastructure, research and placements were used to calculate the factual score. The composite score has been arrived at by combining the perceptual and the factual scores to determine the final rank for each university. The overall result of the survey has been published in the Week magazine issue dated May 31.
