Security reasons defer Baahubali grand soundtrack launch. The word ‘postponement’ is turning out to be a norm with Prabhas-starrer ‘Baahubali - The Beginning’. After the multiple postponements of the release date, it’s now the turn of soundtrack.

I’m planning to do another film before Baahubali 2: Prabhas

Extending his apologies to fans, Prabhas said, “Since I want to reach out to every fan, we are postponing the audio launch. I assure you that when it will happen, it will happen on a grand note.” When asked whether he will start another venture before shifting focus to ‘Baahubali 2’, he said, “I’m planning to do another film but it depends upon when Rajamouli will commence the second part.”

The word ‘postponement’ is turning out to be a norm with Prabhas-starrer ‘Baahubali - The Beginning’. After the multiple postponements of the release date, it’s now the turn of soundtrack. The audio launch, which was conceived on a grand note at Hitex Grounds in Hyderabad on May 31, has now been deferred.

However, this time around the makers aren’t at fault – the cops refused permission quoting security reasons – and this pushed the date forward. Everything was planned – from how the fans enter the venue to how they leave, including the way barricades should be placed, but on Wednesday evening, on the instruction of the police, the date was postponed.

Apologising for the inconvenience caused, SS Rajamouli, director of the film, on Thursday said, “Cops said that they have reservations with the number of fans who may turn up for the event. Keeping in mind the untoward incidents that prevailed at the audio launches of films like ‘Baadhshah’, ‘Mirchi’ and ‘Gopala Gopala’, in the past; they directed us to choose some other venue. They said the setting was too small for the large number of people expected and that people’s safety is of paramount importance.”

Rajamouli feels the cops are right as he too is expecting a large number of Prabhas fans to attend the audio launch. “It has been more than two years since a Prabhas’ film hit the screens, so we wanted every fan of his to get a glimpse of him. We don’t want anyone to hang around the venue; hence we decided to go for an alternate location, the details of which will be revealed as soon as possible,” he informed.

When asked whether the much-anticipated trailer release will happen on May 31 or will that too be pushed to another date, he said, “We are still working on it. We wanted to unveil the trailer in an innovative way at the audio launch but now that it has been postponed, we are working on new means to unveil the trailer. We will announce the date in a day or two.” However, he revealed that the Hindi trailer launch in Mumbai is on schedule - June 1.

So the fans eagerly waiting and utterly disappointed with the postponement can catch the first glimpse of ‘Baahubali – The Beginning’ on the web on June 1, albeit in the Hindi version. Commenting on the status of the first part, he shared, “Re-recording is 95 per cent over while sound mixing and works related to visual effects are in progress.” He also said the 70 per cent of the second installment has been filmed.
