Home Guard kills wife, surrenders
A 30-year-old Home Guard allegedly strangulated his wife to death late on Friday night and later surrendered before the police.P Anjaneyulu attached to Karkhana police station was married to 25-year-old P Hemalatha in 2009. Hemalatha’s family gave gold, cash and household items during the marriage.
Hyderabad: A 30-year-old Home Guard allegedly strangulated his wife to death late on Friday night and later surrendered before the police.P Anjaneyulu attached to Karkhana police station was married to 25-year-old P Hemalatha in 2009. Hemalatha’s family gave gold, cash and household items during the marriage. Soon after the wedding, Anjaneyulu and his parents started harassing her demanding additional dowry.
The couple who stayed at Narasimha Nagar Colony in Mallapur area has two children. Following repeated torture, Hemalatha returned to her parents place a few days back. Anjaneyulu brought her back a couple of days ago after pacifying her and promised to lead a happy conjugal life.
But on Friday night, heated arguments ensued between them which took a nasty turn. In a fit of rage, Anjaneyulu banged her head against the wall and strangulated her to death, according to sources. Preliminary investigation revealed strangulation marks on victim’s neck. The body was shifted to Gandhi mortuary for post-mortem.
Later Anjaneyulu surrendered to Nacharam police. A case has been registered against the accused under Section 302 and 498 A of the IPC. Further probe is on.
