Karimnagar: It seems that Nizamabad MP and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter, K Kavitha has to wait for some more time to conform berth in the Union Cabinet since the BJP leadership was not in a hurry to make friendship with non-NDA parties at the movement.

The Nizamabad MP, who recently took a selfie with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was reportedly frequently meeting with a few of the Union Ministers to impress upon the national leadership of saffron party. Though the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leadership, especially Kavitha was mounting pressure on the Centre to induct her into the Cabinet, the BJP-led NDA government was not seriously considering the matter as it was enjoying full majority in the Lok Sabha.

The only reason for entertaining the regional political parties was that BJP does not have majority in the Rajya Sabha. It was unable to clear bills due to lack of majority in the Upper House. With a view to overcome the problems in the future, the Union government is deliberately entertaining regional parties like AIADMK, Biju Janatha Dal and TRS, a senior BJP leader said, on the condition of anonymity.

He also said TRS leadership is ready to give at least two cabinet posts for saffron party MLAs if Kavitha was accommodated in the Union government. Though the state party was in favour of joining the TRS government, the BJP national leadership was concentrating more on the growth of the party in the newly formed Telangana State as was materialised in the case of two new States, like Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.

BJP national president Amith Shaw asked state party leadership to work hard with a goal to come to power in the State in 2019 elections. Party would forge an alliance with other parties depending upon the then political situation. It is too early to join hands with the TRS because there are four more years left for elections. If the pink party was strong by the time of polls, BJP would provide berth for TRS candidate in the Union Cabinet and fight the elections along with pink party, he said.

On the other hand, TRS leadership is leaving no stone unturned to lure the BJP government. K Chandrasekhara Rao, who strongly criticised the Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the elections campaign and maintained distance from the Central government by neglecting PM’s flagship programme Swachh Bharat, seems to have changed his opinion on Modi, reportedly unable to tolerate the pressure from his daughter.

While Kavitha was frequently meeting a few of the Union Ministers such as Uma Bharathi, Nirmala Sitharaman and others, K Chandrasekhara Rao has recently launched Swachh Hyderabad programme on a grand scale to uphold the Centres’ Swachh Bharat.
