In a first of its kind, Telangana’s first women’s car rally was organised on Sunday at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road to raise awareness of road safety.

In a first of its kind, Telangana’s first women’s car rally was organised on Sunday at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road to raise awareness of road safety. The rally was flagged off by Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy and Transport Minister Mahender Reddy.

The event was organised by Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. along with two NGOs, Being Women and BWB (Bond With Best). With an aim to increase the partaking of women drivers on the road, the programme was brought alive by the participation of about 200 women.

The uniqueness of the event was in the themes of women empowerment and road safety carried out by around 50 cars and their women drivers. Cars and posters were also designed based on themes of Swachh Bharat, drunken driving, women in sports, navigators and Bathukamma festival.

Awards were given out to those whose theme was the most creative. A biker’s rally was also organised as part of the event and 30 vintage cars of the Nizam era was put on display by Shadan Educational Society.

VintageCar Rally

Fiat car enthusiasts of Hyderabad from the Fiat Classic Club organised a FIAT Butta Automotive Car Show on Sunday at Meridian School in Madhapur. The event was chaired by Ram Kiran who owns multiple FIAT cars.
