Fake SIMs racket busted

Police busted a fake SIMs racket and took into custody six persons involved apart from seizing 4,300 SIMs from them, at Sattenapalle. According to the police, the accused Vijay and five others were engaged in clandestine activity by changing the photographs from Aadhar cards, voter ID cards and ration cards and also changing addresses from the cards.

Vijay has five distributors working in Sattenapalle who were offered Rs 10 commission for every SIM sold. Their given target was to sell 350 SIMs. To meet the target, the distributors prepared fake cards by changing original addresses and photographs.

The police, on a complaint from another distributor, busted the racket and seized the 4,300 SIMs in their possession and took the accused six members into custody. Further investigation is pending. Circle Inspector S Sambasiva Rao and his team have busted the illegal racket.
