Onam festival was celebrated by Malayali community at RCM community hall in Kakinada with traditional favour. The culture of Kerala was reflected with traditional food, attire, dance, Tiruvadara - traditional Kerala dance and traditional games. The main theme of this festival was to pass on the traditions to next generations.


Children were the center of attraction with great performances of Kerala traditional dance along with women dancing to Tirvadara. Also, Kerala dance under the leadership of Ginu with the other programs were organized under the able guidance of Psychologist Vinu as thrKeralaites living in Kakinada from all walks of life joined the celebrations.


This harvest festival of Kerala is celebrated with great glory and cultural respect. Men and women were seen in the Kerala traditional attire. This festival is equally celebrated by Christians, Hindus and Muslims making it the only festival celebrated in the world by all these three religions. Onam is a festival in which vegetable dishes are served.


This festival is celebrated in remembrance of King Mahabali, who ruled Kerala. Many Malayalis remembered this tradition as the unity in diversity which became the main focal point of all the speakers.
