Children learn value of Sanskrit. Sanskrit Saptah of the Department of Sanskrit of Maris Stella College concluded, on Tuesday. Participating in the event, Mahamahopadhyaya Dorbala Prabhakara Sarma spoke on how the other Indian languages grew from Sanskrit as their roots.

He explained the difference and similarities between the most commonly used words in Telugu which are related to Sanskrit. Students enthralled the gathering by dancing to Sanskrit phrases in songs from recent movies ‘Bahubali’ and ‘Iddarammayilatho’.
Tibetan students of the college also took part in the cultural programmes. College principal C Rekha Mudarta, Sanskrit Department head D Rama Krishna and other faculty members were present.
