Monkey menace tackled

Residents of Brodipet, Nallapadu and Gorantla in the city complained to the municipal commissioner C.Anuradha on the increasing monkeys menace in their residential areas. Responding to their complaints, the commissioner made arrangements to catch the monkeys which were playing havoc in the residential areas.

In Gorantla the local people say that the menace has been there for more than a decade. Civic staff set traps all over the places and caught nearly 50 monkeys. The monkeys were being sent to the Srisailam forest area with the help of the forest department.
