The actress, who got married to producer-director Aditya Chopra in a hush-hush ceremony earlier this year, is in her second trimester. The baby is reportedly due in January.

The actress's sister-in-law, Jyoti Mukerji, confirmed the happening. Rani, in an interview, in July this year said that she saw herself doing "kick-ass films" and having "lovely babies beside me as I go to the set" in five years.
She also added that she was not interested in doing the roles she did earlier in her career, "It's embarrassing for a 37-year-old to do the roles she did in her twenties," said Rani to India Today, "I'm not delusional. I'm conscious of what the audience wants to see me in."
