Hyderabad: A tenth class student of a school in King Koti in Hyderabad died after a clash with his classmate. Amir Siddiqui, a student of St Joseph’s Public School, suffered head injuries during the clash and died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital on Wednesday. The incident occurred on the school premises during lunch hour on Tuesday but it came to light only after Siddiqui died at the hospital.

Post-mortem reports said that Amir Siddiqui (15) died due to severe brain injury, the Narayanaguda police said. Siddiqui's parents demanded immediate action against the student responsible for their son's death. According to Central Zone DCP VB Kamalasan Reddy Amir Siddiqui, a resident of Masab Tank, had an argument with Shariyal on Tuesday which led to fisticuffs.

During the fight, Siddiqui suffered hard blows on his head and he became unconscious. The school management immediately took him to Kamineni hospital, where the doctors performed a surgery on Siddiqui to remove a clot in the brain. Unfortunately, the boy did not recover and died during early hours of Wednesday, said the DCP.

The school management informed media that Siddiqui had fever for past five days, but was attending school. “We have provided the CCTV footage to the police for investigation,” it said. Basing on the complaint given by Siddiqui’s parents, a case has been booked by the Narayanaguda police. The investigation officers on Wednesday collected the CCTV footage from the school to understand the reasons for the student’s death.
