After starring in two Punjabi films, a Telugu film and the recent Ekta Kapoor production Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi, Simran Kaur Mundi (Miss India Universe 2008) has been cast opposite Kapil Sharma in his debut Bollywood film.

While Simran is happy about her Bollywood journey as she feels she has a lot more to perform owing to her commitments after being the chosen Ms India Universe 2008. Simran now however has shifted her focus into wedding planning, taking this as her alternate profession.

"Yes. I have always been inclined to perform my duties owing to the society which I never like to boast. From time to time after I wore the crown of Ms. India Universe 2008, I keep going to schools situated in my home-town Jullundur and talk to the school going kids there. You know children get inspired by us a lot so I feel it’s my duty to boost their morale.”

On not tasting success in movies: "Whatever films come to me I do choose them accordingly. I am happy with whatever I have done until this day on the celluloid. When Abbas Mastan assigned me a great character in "Kis Kisko Pyaar Karun”, it was not easy to match up to the comic timing and exuberant level of Kapil Sharma. But eventually everything went well.”

Also, Simran is dating someone from the red city of Jaipur. Although she doesn't reveal who it is, the couple might be soon tying the knot. "We have not decided anything as of now,” asserts Simran. Well, being very romantic in real life, Simran says, "I love candle light dinners and love to be pampered with gifts like –a bouquet of flowers. I am happy that my boyfriend keeps up to all of this."

On her role as a wedding planner, Simran says, "Yes! I have been involved in organizing many events. I was also associated with Fame Cinema earlier organizing celebrity events for them. So I am keeping myself busy with an alternate profession. I being an emotional person love to see everyone well settled in life therefore I chose the profession as a wedding planner besides performing arts and modelling. Since I too would love a perfect wedding and the perfect match for myself, so I know the best ways of making wedding plans work owing to my professional potentials which I possess. I am sure all those assign me with this job.”

Before she concludes, Simran talks about models committing suicides owing to failures and advices them to be strong. "We women have been bestowed upon different forms of bearings. We are strong enough to deal with emotions. So my advice to every model is you should not lose hope if you have not made it big on the map of glitz and glamour.
Instead we should stand up and face all the drawbacks and try to keep yourself busy with a positive profession as well a positive thought. There is more for us women to do apart from matters of hearts.”
