As part of the week-long celebrations programmes like drawing, essay writing, quiz and elocution were conducted daily. Close to 1200 school students took part in the competitions.
The Vanya Prani Saptah also coincided with the 22nd birthday of the sacred baboon, Shiva and the authorities marked the occasion with activities.
Two Jammi plants were planted in the central median area and Usari and Tulasi plants were distributed to visitors. In all 20,000 plants were distributed.
