Cyberabad Commissioner of Police C V Anand inspecting the seized gold ornaments at a lodge at Balanagar during an operation on Wednesday Hyderabad: In the wake of offences like chain snatchings and burglaries under Cyberabad Commissionerate limits, the police on Wednesday conducted Naka Bandi (search and cordon operation) in the entire Cyberabad area and seized 8 kg gold, a gun, six live rounds and many vehicles without valid documents.

During the operation, the police said the 8 kg gold that was seized was about to be smuggled out of the city. The seizure was made from a lodging house at Balanagar and two persons were arrested in this connection.

A large number of vehicles were seized as the motorists failed to produce valid documents. As many as 90 check-posts were installed in the Cyberabad area and 7,000 police officers from Law and Order, Special Branch, Traffic, Central Crime Station and other wings were deployed for the operation.

Over thousands of vehicles, including TSRTC buses and transport vehicle, were searched and a large number of cases were also booked under Motor Vehicles Act against the errant motorists.

At Gachibowli, the police seized a gun from a private security guard who failed to renew his weapon license and also seized six live rounds from his possession.
