Hyderabad: One of three eve-teasers caught by the SHE Teams in Hyderabad was booked under Nirbhaya Act for acting “heinously” towards a woman in public on Wednesday.
Md Sajid Hussain (32), a private employee from Amberpet, had been harassing a woman by sending abusive messages against the women to the mobile phone of her husband and parents’-in-law.
Sajid’s actions had created conflict in the woman’s family. The accused was using stolen mobile phones and various SIM cards to send text messages and used to switch off the mobile phone immediately after sending messages.
He used at least 30 mobile phones and 30 SIM cards during commission of the offense. Basing on the victim’s complaint, the SHE teams traced the accused and handed him over to the Amberpet police.
The police booked him under Nirbhaya Act and produced him before the court. In another case, 22-year-old student K Srisailam alas K Srinath Reddy of Rajendranagar was arrested for harassing a woman by sending abusive messages to the victim and her parents and threatening her through emails.
A minor boy, who took advantage of the friendly relation with a minor girl, saved the girl’s photos and sent them to the girl’s father when she refused to continue to be friendly with him. The minor was counselled before his parents and warned not to refrain from such actions in future.
