Police crack online fraud, one held
On a complaint from Flipkart online shopping agency, the Vanasthalipuram police has arrested Pulagam Veera Raghava Reddy and seized 120 SIM cards of various cell phone service providers using fake IDs and four computer processors, a Seagate expansion and a Seagate back-up from the possession of the accused.

Hyderabad: On a complaint from Flipkart online shopping agency, the Vanasthalipuram police has arrested Pulagam Veera Raghava Reddy and seized 120 SIM cards of various cell phone service providers using fake IDs and four computer processors, a Seagate expansion and a Seagate back-up from the possession of the accused.
Veera Raghava Reddy, resident of Chintal in Rangareddy district and native of Kuthakaluru village in East Godavari district, operated a gang comprising his family members and cheat online shopping multinational companies,
such Flipkart and Amzaon, of over Rs 36 lakh, the police said. The gang members included Raghava Reddy’s mother Sitharatnam, wife Naga Lakshmi and sister-in-law Sindhura.
The modus operandi of the accused was that he used place orders, particularly for Intel processors, hard disks and other electronic devices through online from Flipkart and Amazon companies using various fake e-mail IDs, phone numbers and different addresses and cheated the companies.
On receiving the articles, the gang removed an important component from the article or replaced the article with a duplicate one and further complained to the company that the article was substandard or not up to the specifications.
On verification through their courier boys the products were replaced or money refunded to the accused. The police said the accused had amassed Rs 55 lakh through fraud.
The police had frozen the bank account of the accused K V Vijay Kumar, Detective Inspector of Police, K Sanjeeva Reddy, Detective Sub-Inspector of Police,
Vanasthalipuram police station and crime staff under the supervision of B Bhaskar Goud, ACP, Vanasthalipuram Division and B Pushpan Kumar, Inspector of Police, Vanasthalipuram detected this case.
