AP farmers urged to make use of latest tech
Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Y S Chowdary has called upon the farmers to take full advantage of the latest farming technology in vogue to minimise expenditure on labour and get higher yield for their produce.

Lam Farm (Guntur): Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Y S Chowdary has called upon the farmers to take full advantage of the latest farming technology in vogue to minimise expenditure on labour and get higher yield for their produce.
Addressing farmers and all stake-holders after inaugurating an exhibition on agriculture technology on the occasion of the 115th birth anniversary of N G Ranga observed as 'Agriculture Technology Day' at the Lam Farm on Saturday, the Union Minister hailed the contribution of Prof N G Ranga for the development of agriculture.
He asked farmers to take advantage of farm technologies, mechanisation and every incentive being given by the government towards this end. He advised those farmers who are already adopting farm mechanisation to create awareness in their community and help speed up the agricultural revolution. Chowdary described Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's initiative in linking the Krishna and Godavari rivers as a historic event and added that the Chief Minister had set the tone for a national movement in this regard.
He said that the Pattiseema project envisaged by the State government is an example of the miracles that the linking of rivers would do. The rivers linkage would change the face of agriculture and fight drought permanently besides boosting the yield of their crops.
He said that he would strive for establishment of industries for generation of employment to unemployed youth in the State. Earlier, Agriculture Research Station Associate Director Edara Narayana in his welcome address outlined several achievements of the research station and also about its future potential as it is on the verge of being upgraded into an Agriculture University. He lauded the contribution of Prof N G Ranga to agriculture and the farming community. He paid rich tributes to N G Ranga on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
