Maheswari Prasad Memorial National level Nataka Parishad organised a three day drama competition from 13th to 15th of this month at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College.
Maheswari Prasad Memorial National level Nataka Parishad organised a three day drama competition from 13th to 15th of this month at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College. In a total, five social dramas were staged on this occasion. ‘Rushi’ swept most number of awards including best production and best actor, which were taken home by Akella and Sai, respectively.
The awards were presented by Aravinda Arts, Tadepalli. The team of ‘Hamsakada na padava’ bagged the award for the second best production. The award for the best director was given to Manikumar. The best actress award went to Bhargavi for her performance in ‘Sthree... Sthree’ which was staged by the Gurajada Kala Manadir. Other awards like best supporting actress, best comedian, best character actor, best villain award were conferred upon Uma, Md Basha, E Sagar and Santosh, respectively
The organisers presented Relangi Venkatramayya award to veteran film comedian Pridhvi raj on the inaugural day. While addressing the audience, Pridhvi raj said that he would like to perform on stage and that stage artistes will flourish in any medium. He also thanked the organisers for allowing him to participate in the festival. The organisers also render financial help to the poor and needy persons and also to deserving students.
Rampilla Mohana Prasad Secretary of the organisation said that this parishad was started in memory of his father and mother. He also said that besides staging dramas, the social welfare activities would also be continued in future. Balagangadhara Tilak, Bayana Sreenivas, Nandagiri Narasimharao, Bhavani, Rajeswari, Chandini and others also participated in this event.
