Hyderabad: Two students drowned in a temple lake at Alwal when they went to take a holy dip on the occasion of Karthika Pournami on Wednesday.
According to sources, Dinesh (14), Pavan (12) and three others from Bolarum visited the Balaji temple at Alwal to take holy dip. Pavan, who did not know how to swim, got down in the lake and drowned. In order to rescue him Dinesh jumped into the lake and he also drowned, sources said.
The other three children informed their parents about the tragedy. With the help of temple Endowments officer and fire tenders, the bodies of Dinesh and Pavan were retrieved.
